Feb 17, 2019 | 4:16 PM

Robyn Silvernagle’s rink has earned their first win at the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts after a narrow loss in their opening draw against curling juggernaut Jennifer Jones and Team Canada.

The North Battleford-based rink drew a 6-4 victory over Team New Brunswick Sunday in Sydney, N.S.

Silvernagle struck first in the afternoon back-and-forth affair, with New Brunswick’s Katie Forward answering when needed.

Saskatchewan notched a double in the fifth and seventh ends, while New Brunswick only found two points in the sixth and one in the eighth.

A blank ninth and single in the tenth sealed the day for Silvernagle.

Team Saskatchewan, consisting of Stefanie Lawton, who grew up in Prince Albert but lives in Saskatoon, Alberta’s Jessie Hunkin and Prince Albert’s Kara Thenevot, has two games on Monday.

They first face the 2-0 rink of Lethbridge’s Casey Scheidegger at 7:30 a.m. before taking on Team Northwest Territories in the late draw at 5:30 p.m.
