Klassen nets hat trick in Mintos win vs. Beardy’s

Gabe Klassen scored his second hat trick of the season on Thursday as his Prince Albert Mintos (19-15-0-2) defeated the (18-14-0-4) Beardy’s Blackhawks 7-2 at the Willow Cree Memorial Sport Centre.

Despite being a true rookie playing in his 15-year-old season, Klassen is now tied for the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League lead in goals with 25 in 39 games.

Chase Bertholet had a goal and three helpers. Dawson Springer had a goal and an assist, while Andrew Schaab also scored, while affiliate player Gage Helm scored his first Midget AAA goal.

The Mintos will return home at the Art Hauser Centre for a pair of games against the Notre Dame Argos Saturday and Sunday. Both games will start at 1:30 p.m.
