UPDATE: Woman in hospital after Highway 3 crash; road closed for 8 hours

UPDATE Friday:

paNOW has learned the young woman involved in a crash on Highway 3 Thursday morning between a small car and a semi truck has sustained serious injuries.

A family member contacted paNOW to say she was being treated for multiple injuries.

This update is a clarification following initial informaton made public by Parkland Ambulance following the incident.

UPDATE : Parkland Ambulance said later Thursday morning on social media that one woman was taken to hospital in good condition.

UPDATE:

Traffic on Highway 3 west of Prince Albert was moving normally Thursday evening after an eight-hour closure. It was shut down temporarily after a serious crash in the morning.
 
 A detour had been set up but RCMP reported the re-opening at 5:40 p.m.

A small vehicle was hit by a semi-truck at Whitfield Road around 8:40 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital. Parkland Ambulance said later on social media that one woman was taken to hospital in good condition.

There are no further details at this stage.

Several motorists have commented on social media saying conditions were foggy.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist team was being deployed.

Traffic is being re-routed along the side roads.
