Former P.A. Police Chief and Citizen of the Year to lead Edmonton Police Service
A man who is well known in the Prince Albert area for his many contributions to the city, has been named the new Chief of Police for the Edmonton Police Service.
Dale McFee will start his new job Feb. 1, 2019, according to a news release Wednesday by the Edmonton Police Commission (EPC).
McFee has been serving as the deputy minister of Corrections and Policing in Saskatchewan since 2012. Prior to that he worked for the Prince Albert Police Service for 25 years, spending the last eight years as police chief. He was instrumental in the establishment of the HUB and CORE programs.
In 2011, McFee was named Prince Albert’s Citizen of the Year. Prior to his career in law enforcement, McFee played hockey for the Prince Albert Raiders in the 1980s and would eventually get elected president of the community owned franchise. In early 2018, McFee was inducted into Prince Albert’s Sports Hall of Fame in the builder category for his contributions to hockey and soccer in the community.
