Princess Auto comes to Prince Albert

Oct 11, 2018 | 11:16 AM

There’s a buzz of excitement on the east side of the city and it’s due to Prince Albert’s newest business – Princess Auto.

Princess Auto is a Canadian owned company with 45 stores across the country and more being opened. It has been around since 1933 when the founder Harvey Tallman bought an auto wrecking company on Princess Street in Winnipeg. 85 years later, the business continues to grow and is still called “Princess Auto”.

Lit up and ready for business

It’s said that enthusiasm spreads and a source of this enthusiasm comes from Princess Auto’s General Manager, Laura Kramps. Kramps has spent 5 years with Princess Auto, loves retail and is ecstatic about leading her team here in Prince Albert. “I love the excitement and business of working with a team and teaching a new team.” “I’m excited to put P.A. on the map – the P.A. in P.A.!”

Carrying a huge selection of parts, tools, accessories, and gifts, from auto to metal fabrication equipment, this store has a lot of stock. Kramps says she has one particular aisle that’s her favourite, “I love the Surplus selection. It’s random, unique items, things a person wouldn’t think of, it’s great!”

Mayor Greg Dionne and former Mayor Don Cody take in opening day

The location of Prince Albert has been considered for a while for a Princess Auto store and the timing is finally right. The staff at Princess Auto includes 38 positions – full and part time, and is eager to serve Prince Albert and area promising to deliver exceptional service daily. They strive for customer satisfaction and will repair, replace or refund any product to meet the customer’s approval.

Since the beginning, Princess Auto has been asking their customers what they want to create, not what they want to buy. With this as the foundation, their business of being the “go to” place for tools and parts needed to create a project has thrived. And they exist today because of their customers.

Princess Auto staff ready and willing to assist in your shopping experience

Their passion is to help you figure out your projects with the guarantee that “no sale is final until you’re satisfied.” And, when those projects are completed, they take pride in showcasing them on their website! Kramps said, “any of our customers can participate in the online showcase. If you built something with our products, we definitely want to showcase it…Even our team members can share what they’ve done… We had an ultimate ‘figure – outer’ contest and it was fantastic and it inspires creativity.”

Whatever home, auto or DIY projects you have on the go, take a trip to Princess Auto and make sure you have the right tools and materials needed first. There’s nothing worse than starting a project and having to stop because you don’t have the right tool or missing a part.  Let your projects be easier, and let yourself be entitled to the bragging rights for the job completed!
