UPDATED: Emergency personnel respond to bear spray incident

UPDATE:

PA Police offered the following update to the bear spray incident in the city Friday.

On September 7, 2018 at 12:52 p.m. patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint in the 2800 Block of 6 Avenue East. Police took multiple calls about an incident involving bear mace.

On arrival police spoke with a 14-year-old male victim who had been bear maced. The victim was treated at scene by Parkland Ambulance and then transported to his residence. Police spoke with numerous witnesses who were suffering from the effects of bear spray in the air but not directly targeted or sprayed.

A 12-year-old male has been identified as a suspect by police. Police continue to investigate.

No arrests have been made.

Emergency personnel were called to the Carlton Court Shopping Plaza Friday for an incident involving bear spray.

Details are scarce at the moment, but the Prince Albert Police Service has confirmed that multiple calls were received about an incident involving bear spray around 12:50 p.m. Friday in the 2800 Block of Sixth Ave. E. Police say they continue to investigate. 

Lyle Karasiuk with Parkland Ambulance said there were no injuries as a result of the incident.
