P.A. paramedics decorated by Lt. Governor

Three paramedics in Prince Albert were honoured by Lieutenant Governor W. Thomas Molloy in Regina Wednesday.
Two of them, Lyle Karasiuk and Ramsay Bellisle, were awarded the highest honour for paramedics in Canada, the Governor General’s EMS Exemplary Service Medal, for their long service.
Karasiuk has served for 30 years, and his work goes well beyond his duties as an advanced care paramedic. He provides community education and is an outstanding spokesperson for his profession and the efforts of his colleagues. Karasiuk has received multiple city, provincial, and national honours throughout his career, including the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medals and Prince Albert’s Citizen of the Year.
Bellisle has served for 20 years and assesses and coaches other paramedics at various stages of their professional careers. He has also had a 24-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces and is currently a Chief Warrant Officer and Sergeant Major of the North Saskatchewan Regiment.
