Teenager Alphonso Davies leads Whitecaps over Orlando City 5-2
VANCOUVER — Like a lot of teenagers Alphonso Davies sometimes does things at his own pace.
It took some prodding from head coach Carl Robinson but Davies found his stride early for a change Saturday afternoon.
The 17-year-old winger scored one goal and established a franchise record by producing three assists as the Vancouver Whitecaps defeated Orlando City SC 5-2 to win their first Major League Soccer game on home turf in over a month.
“Usually I take my time going into games,” said Davies. “I think today was different. He (Robinson) told me to start the game like how I finish games. So, I tried to do what he said.”
