P.A. athletes flex their muscles at bodybuilding competition
A number of Prince Albert athletes impressed the judges at the Saskatchewan Amateur Bodybuilding Association’s championships, which were held over the past three weeks.
Walter Wildey, 25, finished second overall in the men’s physique event at the novice competition in Regina. This was Wildey’s first year competing, and he admitted he was a bit surprised by how well he did.
“You always go out with a positive attitude towards winning, but when you get there you see the others and you definitely have doubts whether you worked hard enough,” he said.
Wildey’s training for the competition began more than 16 weeks ago. In addition to the physical training, Wildey said he was also introduced to a strict diet plan.
