Hounds win 1-2 grudge match over Mintos
It was a battle of the ages at the Art Hauser Centre on Sunday with the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League’s top two teams.
The Notre Dame Hounds lived up to their No. 1 ranking, as they shutout the Prince Albert Mintos 2-0. The Mintos will move down to the third spot with the loss with their 27-5-2-1 record. The Regina Pat Canadians jumped up to second with their 3-1 win over the Moose Jaw Generals.
“We went hard today,” Mintos assistant captain Austin Lamotte said. “They’re the number one team, so you have to give a balls-out effort for these guys.”
Mintos head coach Ken Morrison agreed that the effort was more than there, but it was the little things that cost them.
