Fonstad becomes first Raider since 2001 to score at Top Prospects Game

Jan 25, 2018 | 8:24 PM

Prince Albert Raiders forward Cole Fonstad put himself rare Raider company on Thursday in Guelph, Ont., at the 2018 CHL/NHL Sherwin-Williams Top Prospects Game.

He became the first player in the last 17 years to score a goal in the Top Prospects contest.

Here was his goal he scored for Team Orr, in their defeat to Team Cherry 7-4.

Fonstad’s Top Prospect goal was preceded by former Raider Greg Watson, who scored in the 2001 Top Prospects Game.

In his second year with the Raiders, Fonstad has 47 points in as many games, including 12 goals. Earlier this week, Fonstad was ranked 78th among North American Skaters by NHL Central Scouting.

The Raiders take on the Prince George Cougars on Friday and the Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday, both at the Art Hauser Centre this weekend.
