Saskatchewan Roughrider great Don Narcisse is battling prostate cancer

Narcisse posted on Facebook Wednesday to spread the news he has been diagnosed with the first stage of the disease, and he is thankful doctors caught it early.

The 52-year-old CFL Hall of Famer said he will be starting radiation treatment in the next few weeks.

Narcisse said his sister Pamela is a survivor of pancreatic cancer and she motivated him to go public with his diagnosis instead of keeping it private. She encouraged him to use his platform to spread awareness about prostate cancer.

The post quickly sparked messages of support from his fans in Rider Nation.

Narcisse spent his entire CFL career with the Roughriders and was part of the Grey Cup winning team in 1989.
