Sharks Swim Club Stars Shine at ManSask Provincial Short course championship

Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club went to the ManSask Provincial Championship with a lot of ambitions and returned back with a lot of success!

Congratulations to all swimmers competing in last week’s ManSask Championship. Four swimmers from Prince Albert Sharks Swim club participated in ManSask SC course championships from Dec 14 to Dec 17, 2017 in Winnipeg. There are fantastic results from the Sharks swimmers in the competition.

There are a huge number of personal best times achieved and this shows a massive development of the performance level of our top swimmers competing against other top swimmers from different Clubs and provinces. (Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario).

Highlights from ManSask LC provincial championship:

Swimmers achieved 11 “AA” qualifying time

Tristan Anderson-Woodsworth came third in the 200 Breast and got the bronze medal

Sophie Bilodeau Broke the club records in  200 breast twice in the prelims and in the finals. Also Sophie came fourth in 50 breast,100 breast  and 200 Breast.

Sophie Bilodeau:  achieved new personal times in all of her events and came fourth in 50,100 and 100 Breast. Also, she qualified to the finals in 200 and 400 IM. Sophie is the fastest swimmer in the province in the 100 and 200 Breast. Also, she is very close to qualify to the western Canadian championship and also to the Nationals.

Tristan Anderson-Woodsworth: Bronze medal in the 200 Breast, New personal best times in 200 IM, 100 Free, 50 Fly, 100 Breast, Came 5th in 100 Breast and 6th in 50 Breast.

Mackalie Bates: New personal best times in 200 IM, 50 FR, 100 FR, 50 FLY and 200 fr..

Alexis McDonald:  Achieved “AA” time in 50 free and in 50 Back. New personal best times in 50,100,200 Back, 50 FR, 100 FR, 1500 Fr.

Head coach, Dr. Hazem Hussein said, “all of the swimmers have worked hard in training in this training season. The results they have achieved are down to their dedication and hard work.”

We are pleased with our swimmers results and performance. The club offer a variety of programs to meet the kid’s potentials and ambitions not only on the competitive level but also on the Non- competitive level.
