Marauders tickled pink for a good cause

Blue is usually the colour that dominates in the gymnasium at St. Mary High School. But on Wednesday night, that colour was unanimously pink instead.

The Marauders boys and girls volleyball teams hosted the Carlton Crusaders in the annual Cancer Awareness night.

All four teams flooded the floor in pink, all wearing pink T-shirts and some wearing other accessories likes headbands and sleeves.

“There was even a tutu out there today,” Marauders girls coach Shaun Hunko said.

“Everyone’s been touched in some way by cancer. It’s definitely bigger than volleyball,” Hunko said. “It’s good comradery, the girls over the years have been very supportive. Everyone’s in pink. They get it. It’s really nice.”
