Seniors radiothon celebrates 30 years
This Friday, marks the 30th anniversary of the Two Miles for Mary radiothon fundraiser for Senior Transportation.
Chief Executive Officer Bill Powalinsky said last year the service provided over 2,000 rides with assisted service, and over 6,200 rides in total at $5 per trip.
“We also coordinated 52 medical charters to Saskatoon. Year to date, we are up 381 trips compared to last year largely due to adding a much needed second car on Mondays and Tuesdays,” he said.
The annual Two Miles for Mary radiothon contributes roughly 30 per cent of the program’s operating funds. The annual event will take place at the Seniors Heritage Centre starting at 8 until 10 a.m.
