No link suspected in recent pedestrian deaths: RCMP
RCMP don’t think there’s any link between the two recent fatal incidents involving pedestrians on Highway 2 north of the city.
The first happened in daylight Friday about four kilometres from P.A. It’s being treated as a hit and run. A 58-year-old man from Montreal Lake was killed.
The second fatality happened Monday evening near Christopher Lake. A 55-year-old man from Black Lake was hit by a vehicle, but Sgt. Lyle Korczak said the circumstances of the two incidents were very different.
“We’re not sure, we’re still in a preliminary investigation on that matter as well, but it does not appear on the bona facie that it would be anything criminal,” he said.
