Though Spring seems to be off to a slow start, Wright’s Greenhouses located at Beatty and Melfort, are ready to go with a tremendous selection for every need.

For Canada’s 150-year celebration, Wright’s have created a very large selection of bedding plants in Red, White and Green. This selection, with the expert advise of Horticulturalist and Owner, Angie Bragg, will help even the beginner gardener come up with incredible floral and yard designs to celebrate Canada’s Birthday.

For those who do not have a yard to decorate, or for those who simply enjoy this new hobby, Wrights has a large selection of succulent plants, mosses, fairies, gnomes, and everything needed for those interested in creating Fairy Gardens. The succulents are also very conducive to decorating pots including teapots and coffee pots for lovely indoor displays.

Several fairy gardens and succulent arrangements are also available for sale.

For 2017, Vegetables, Fruits and Herbs are expected to be in demand as gardeners, including balcony gardeners, develop an increasing interest in growing their own food. Again, Wrights has a large selection of starter plants for many vegetables, has a selection of fruit trees, especially grapes and haskap busses, and an abundance of herbs from basil varieties, to mints, oreganos, parlsleys and much more.

Often gardeners are looking for something special – something unique and new. This year, Wrights has several new items including a glorious single petunia called Night Sky which is a dark violet speckled with white that look very much like a starry night. There are black petunias along with many other shades as well. 

As well,  Salanam is a large plant that is an annual shrub which covers with small bluish flowers and has been trained into pots at the greenhouse and is new this year.

As always, gardeners can depend on Bragg to advise them on the plants best suited to particular projects in particular locations and conditions. With information on soil conditions, indoor or outdoor planting, amount of sunlight and so on, Bragg can help every level of gardener – from those with large gardens to those who plant in containers, not only find the right plants, but provide valuable information on care and maintenance of each variety.

Angie Bragg carries on a nearly 40-year tradition with Wright’s Greenhouse, started in 1978 when her parents, Tom and Wendy Wright, returned to Saskatchewan after a downturn in the Alberta economy. With baby Angie in tow, the couple, with help from Tom’s parents, developed Wrights Greenhouse literally from the ground up, starting in Beatty. The baby rocking in a bassinet in the greenhouse became a toddler and then a young woman passionate about the business.

At the same time, trips to Wright’s Greenhouse became a tradition with most families in the area and the bright red delivery truck with the Wright’s Greenhouse sign on the side was driven by Grandfather, Cam Wright, happily making deliveries well into his very senior years.

Because Angie (Wright) Bragg literally grew up in the greenhouses, she was the natural one to take the next step and go on to take her Horticultural degree through Olds College.

With an incredible selection, an eye on gardening trends and generations of experience and knowledge, Wright’s Greenhouse is the obvious choice for any gardener this spring.
