Muskoday First Nation election results

The results are in from Muskoday First Nation’s election held on March 22.

Austin Bear has been renamed as the Chief, beating out challenger Sandra LeBeouf by 140 votes.

Herman Crain, Merle Crain, Elaine Smith-Ross, Randy Bear and Delbert Bear have been named to Muskoday’s councillor positions.

The Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation (BOFN) will be heading to the polls on March 24. Membership will also be participating in a referendum to introduce new legislation. Residents will cast their votes on the BOFN Constitution, Executive Act and the Financial Management Act.

The Montreal Lake Cree Nation will be going to the polls on March 31. Nomination meetings are underway, with meetings to be hosted at the Little Red River Hall on March 23, and at the Senator Allen Bird Memorial School on March 24.

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band elections are scheduled for March 31. Chief candidates have been invited to partake in a debate on March 29 at the Kikinahk Friendship Centre at 6 p.m.
