“That’s one of the reasons why I called it A2Z in the first place, the array of different programs and services we offer blows people away,” owner Trevor Montgomery says.

As industries such as oil and construction become more complex, workers need numerous certifications to be qualified to work. It no longer counts to have personal experience, now you need to prove your skills for an opportunity to work.

Depending on the course, you may spend between four and 20 hours inside a classroom. The quick and efficient training means you’ll be fully qualified and ready to enter the work force with minimal down time.

To match ever changing industries, A2Z is constantly expanding and altering their available courses. If they don’t have a specific course on their schedule, they’ll find an instructor to teach it. If you’re looking for a specific certification not currently offered A2Z will explore how they can offer it in the future.

Classes range from four to 20 hours at their training facility, where they strive for a classroom feel. It’s not just training, it’s education. By gaining a certificate from A2Z clients are providing their future selves with more avenues and opportunities not just in their career, but in life as well.

“We’ve had people say this is the best experience they’ve ever had and they feel successful,” office manager Elizabeth Montgomery says.

A2Z recognizes clients may need required immediate training to stay on a work site, so they have instructors who travel to provide on-site training to individuals and groups.

A2Z instructors are the best in the business because they’ve spent significant time in the fields they teach. “It’s not just a job to our instructors,” Elizabeth says. “They have a passion to teach.” Many instructors teach multiple courses, bringing their wide range of knowledge to the table.

Given their location in the Gateway City, A2Z works extensively with Aboriginal communities in and around Prince Albert through their B.A.L.A.N.C.E. program.

It stands for Bridging Aboriginal Lifestyles and New Career Experiences. The course is for individuals who have either never been employed or struggle to keep employment.

“It’s a great base for people,” Elizabeth says. The course mixes life and employment skills to make sure employees have the job skills to be hired and the life skills to maintain and continue their employment.

So far the program has been incredibly successful and has had led to other training courses which boast extremely high graduation rights.

Understanding many coming to A2Z may be suffering financial hardships from a lack of employment, they’ll do what they can to make sure clients can afford the training. There are a number of different avenues they utilize to help students in need of financial assistance, which means anyone in search of new employment skills won’t be limited by lack of funds.

“We aren’t the type to leave someone behind,” Trevor says.
