A chief has been removed due to corrupt practices on a reserve in north eastern Saskatchewan.

Craig Henry, regional manager of communications for Aboriginal Affairs, confirmed that Danny Starchief of Mosquito, Grizzly Bear’s Head and The Lean Man First Nation was removed from his position as chief.

Aboriginal Affairs couldn’t comment on whether the band is taking over the chief’s duties or what will happen moving forward.

Mosquito, Grizzly Bear’s Head and The Lean Man First Nation is a First Nation reserve in Cando, Saskatchewan.
