NexGen Mechanical – “Raising the Standard in Prince Albert”

May 9, 2016 | 11:27 AM

Incorporated in 2009 in Saskatoon, Greg Bergstrom and his partner, Jeff Young started NexGen Mechanical Inc. The company had humble beginnings as a home based business and has since grown to over 30 technicians with shops in Saskatoon and Prince Albert. NexGen offers a variety of services including plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration installation, service, and repairs. The technicians employed with NexGen are experienced in all facets of HVAC including all residential and commercial applications. Greg and Jeff’s focus has always been on personalized customer service and quality installations. That focus, as well as a strong corporate image, attributes to the continued success and growth of the company.

Two years ago, Greg felt the pull to move to Prince Albert to be closer to his family, thus paving the way for the expansion of NexGen Mechanical into the Prince Albert market.  “Every time I have visited Prince Albert in the past, I have always felt at home here” states Bergstrom. He looks forward to continuing to meet people in Prince Albert and area and is looking forward to raising a family here.

Bergstrom and his business partner spent time in Prince Albert to gather market information and see if there was a need for their services here. When asked what NexGen has to offer Prince Albert, Bergstrom responded “We felt the need to provide a faster turnaround time for Prince Albert residents and business owners”. With that in mind, Greg literally pounded the pavement and spent a large amount of time getting to know local residents and business owners.

In the fall of 2015 Bergstrom saw an opportunity for growth and NexGen Mechanical purchased General Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. With the addition of several experienced staff members as well as the original owner; this broadened their customer base as well as their service capabilities. The staff at NexGen Mechanical are team oriented and always work together to get the job done.

NexGen is proud to offer 24-hour commercial and residential service, each day of the year. The company does not believe in using an answering service. When a customer calls with a problem they will speak with a trained technician, or even Greg himself, meaning a solution is immediately being determined and help is on the way.

“It is important for our clients to talk to someone who knows what to do and who can provide them service right away.”

“You cannot anticipate when and if a unit is going to breakdown and, in this business, many of those breakdowns are critical to have repaired right away. For example, if you have a commercial freezer shutdown you may stand to lose thousands of dollars in inventory. That’s just one of the reasons we offer 24-hour service” says Bergstrom.

Local business can also benefit from NexGen Mechanical’s maintenance program for commercial buildings. Bergstrom highly recommends that “all building owners and businesses have a maintenance program in place to avoid repairs in the future as well as costly downtime due to units not working properly”. A technician will show up four times a year and complete a full HVAC inspection, change all filters, clean condensers, and recommend repairs to units that may not be optimally working.

This time of year many residents are thinking about air conditioning. NexGen carries many different brands of air conditioners to suit everyone’s budget. With the combined purchasing power of the Saskatoon head office, NexGen deals directly with suppliers to ensure they are getting the best equipment at the lowest price possible. Quotations are always free and financing options are available for those who qualify. “Our pricing is fair and we can work with you to arrange low monthly payments”, says Bergstrom.

Dedication to quality and customer service has enabled NexGen to build a company that will continue to proudly serve Prince Albert and area customers for years to come.
