Whether you are browsing through the store or picking up materials from the drive through lumberyard Econo Lumber in Prince Albert is guaranteed to have the materials you need to complete your next project.

“We have way more inventory than anyone else in Prince Albert,” said Curtis Lemieux, owner of Econo Lumber. “When someone phones and says do you have this in stock?

We are usually able to say, “yes we do” and if we don’t we have a truck that goes to Saskatoon daily that will pick it up.”

Since opening its doors in 1971 Econo Lumber has continued to expand. As a result it has grown into the prominent successful business it is today at their third and current location at 1800 6th Ave E.

“We want to keep our customer here,” said Lemieux. “If they can find what they want at one location and if the prices and quality are good than there is no reason for them to shop elsewhere.”

“Over the last couple of years we have put two new buildings up. We added a heated bulk storage, an unheated bulk storage, plus we have added a bunch of new displays to our store.”

Today the store features a new 953 square foot kitchen display and design area, a 1,190 square foot window and door display area as well as a 1,435 square foot plumbing display area that offers the largest selection of taps, faucets and vanities in Prince Albert.

“We are a complete home centre,” said Lemieux. We sell vanities toilets, showers and tubs. Right now we also handle two lines of kitchen cupboard brands Kitchen Craft and KraftMaid and we also sell granite counter tops as well as flooring, doors and windows.”

Econo Lumber also features a one of a kind 32,000 square foot drive thru warehouse that allows customers to load their materials out of the elements, giving them the peace of mind that the building materials they are purchasing are high quality with a lower deviation factor.

“All of our materials are stored indoors so you don’t get sun beating on it and you don’t get various other weather falling on it,” said Lemieux. “Customers love driving into the warehouse, it’s nice, it’s clean and the material inside stays a lot straighter.

The highly trained sales professionals at Econo Lumber are always prepared to provide in store estimating for all construction projects ensuring every job is completed on time with the right materials. From commercial building to housing down to decks, doors, windows and kitchen cabinets the staff at Econo Lumber are always ready to help.

Our slogan is “Where personalized service is still number one,” so customers service is very important to us,” said Lemieux. “The staff treat people like they would want to be treated and they respond quickly to customers when they want pricing or if they want an estimate.”

Econo Lumber believes in giving back to their community and they are supporters of various initiatives within the city including Habitat for Humanity, and the Prince Albert SPCA. In 2015 Econo Lumber was also nominated for the Abex Community Cornerstone Award.
