Over capacity continues at Victoria Hospital

The code burgundy (over capacity) at Victoria Hospital is still in effect for their inpatient units. 

The code burgandy was first put in place Jan 4, 2016. 

The Emergency Department is currently overwhelmed, and will respond to patients with life-threatening issues first. 

Doug Dahl, communications officer for the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region, said there were numerous causes for the hospital being overcapacity, and there was no single solution. 

It is not known when the code burgundy will be lifted.
