Gunville takes over Raiders head scout role
Ron Gunville earned himself a promotion with the Prince Albert Raiders—sort of.
The Raiders announced on Tuesday that Gunville will be the team’s new director of player personnel. Since Sept. 2, Gunville served as the Raiders interim director of player personnel after former head scout Dale Derkatch accepted a job with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
“After an extensive search, it became clear that Ron was the best person for this position,” Raiders general manager Curtis Hunt said in a statement. “Ron has a good relationship with our scouting staff and has a strong vision and understanding of our organization.”
“I am excited for this new opportunity and to continue working with my hometown team,” said Gunville. “I look forward to building on the work done by Dale Derkatch and being a part of the direction this organization is going.”
