Paramedics treated to fairly quiet Halloween weekend

Parkland Ambulance Paramedics responded to 87 calls over the weekend.

While the police had an active Halloween, paramedics reported a quiet weekend.

Early Friday evening they responded to a car crash on the Sturgeon Lake Reserve. Two 25-year-old women, a 24-year-old man and a 31-year-old man were all taken to hospital in good condition.

Just after 2 a.m. Saturday paramedics cared for a man with minor injuries from as assault in the 400 block of 12th St. E. The man was taken to hospital for further care.

They responded to another assault in the 1500 block of 15th St. W. at 8:39 p.m. A 30-year-old man was treated for his injuries and taken to hospital in good condition.

Only a few minutes into Sunday morning paramedics were called to pedestrian hit by a car near the Saskatchewan Penitentiary on Hwy. 302 W. The 18-year-old man was taken to hospital in good condition for further care.

Several car accidents that didn’t result in any injuries required a fair amount of attention on the weekend as well.

Paramedics remind everyone to keep their car stocked with a winter safety kit.
