UPDATE: Calgary man dead after helicopter crash west of Saskatoon

Oct 27, 2015 | 10:47 PM

A helicopter crash just outside Kinley has claimed one man’s life, Biggar RCMP reported late Tuesday.

The helicopter went down in a field just one kilometer southeast of the village at around 7:45 p.m. Police identified a 48-year-old Calgary man as the lone occupant in the helicopter, adding he was flying from Calgary to Saskatoon. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada plans to attend the crash site today to take over the lead role in the investigation. The cause of the crash is still unknown. No properties were damaged in the crash.

This comes less than a week after another helicopter crash near Paynton claimed the life of a pilot, and a 30-year-old man from Prince Albert.
