Workshop for Families Living with Autism
Autism Services will be hosting a free workshop November 18th, 2015, Challenges Faced by Families will be at the Victoria Square Education Room Victoria Square (building east of the hospital) at 9:00 am- 12:00 pm.
Kathryn Olthuis and Elaine Billay, Social Workers with Prince Albert Mental Health, will discuss the effects on the family when a family member has a disability or a special need. Topics include value of inclusion, advocacy, navigating the school and other supports, self-care and coping, relational challenges within the immediate and extended family, and keeping expectations realistic.
This workshop is free. Anyone is welcome. No need to register, just show up!
