RCMP investigating homicide at Grandmother’s Bay First Nation

Stanley Mission RCMP is investigating a homicide in Grandmother’s Bay First Nation. 

RCMP had been dispatched in the early morning of Oct. 17 to a complaint of an assault. When they and EMS from La Ronge arrived, they discovered a dead 39-year-old woman. 

Police arrested Josephine Roberts, a 37-year-old woman from Grandmother’s Bay, with second degree murder. 

She will remain in police custody until her first court appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court on Monday, Oct. 19.
