Busy start to the long weekend for PA police

Oct 12, 2015 | 8:28 AM

Prince Albert Police Service had a busy start to the Thanksgiving long weekend.

They responded to approximately 190 calls from 6 p.m. Friday to 12 p.m. Sunday.

Thirty-seven people were taken into custody. Public intoxication made up 14 of those arrests.

Most calls for police service were for disturbances, intoxicated persons, and theft under $5000.

A complaint of assault drew police to the 1300 block of 2nd Ave W. on Sunday. A 21-year-old female had been assaulted by a weapon. Her wounds were non-life threatening, but she required treatment in Saskatoon.

Police continue to investigate.

A structure fire on Saturday required patrol units and Fire Control.  Several people in the 1100 block of 17th St. W. were interviewed.

Police request anyone with knowledge of the fire come forward.
