Fatal accident on Big River First Nation

One man is dead after being struck by an unlicensed driver on the Big River First Nation.

On Monday, just before 10 p.m., Big River RCMP were dispatched to the First Nation where a man, 29, had been struck by a truck on an access road near the 793 Grid.

According to RCMP, initial investigation shows the truck was travelling on the roadway when the driver came across a person in dark clothing lying on the road. 

Although he attempted to brake, the driver was unable to avoid hitting the individual.
