Slow Food Potluck

Oct 4, 2015 | 2:00 PM

Come celebrate our harvest at our annual Slow Food Potluck on Friday October 16 at 6 pm at the Grace Mennonite Church 250-28th St. West.  You are encouraged to bring a friend and a story with your potluck dish.

While food security is a complex issue, slow food is part of the solution as fast food is typically less good nutritionally, less clean environmentally, and less fair price-wise for producers.

As well as great food with most of it being locally grown or sourced, a summary chart of Jo Robinson’s book Eating on the Wild Side will be available as a take-away.

It is common knowledge that fruits and vegetables are healthy, but Robinson’s book compares apples to apples and oranges to oranges and suggests which types are the healthiest to eat and grow.
