Best Environmentally Responsible Local Company : SARCAN Recycling
SARCAN Recycling continues to assist in helping to keep Saskatchewan beautiful.
Prince Albert SARCAN is doing their part for local employment creation, environmental protection and economic development. “We are proud to have the Prince Albert and District Community service Centre(PACSC) operate our two Prince Albert SARCAN depots” says board chairperson – Gloria Mahussier.
As part of a provincial network of 71 depots in 63 communities across Saskatchewan. “The two SARCAN locations in Prince Albert employ 14 people and receive approximately 75 to100 thousand beverage containers per day and approximately 30 million per year” says Richard Sorenson – depot manager.
At SARCAN they are proud of the role they play in protecting and preserving the environment, but they know they couldn’t do it without help. Every single trip Saskatchewan residents make to SARCAN makes a difference. Thanks to the commitment of Saskatchewan residents the number of containers recycled continues to rise every year. Everything dropped off at SARCAN including paint, electronics and used beverage containers are always processed to be recycled. Nothing is later dumped off at a landfill.
