Police investigate stabbing in Prince Albert

The Prince Albert Police Service is now investigating a weekend stabbing.

Just after 2 a.m. on Sep. 14, the Prince Albert Police Service responded to a report of an injured man in the area of the 1500 block of 15th Ave. E.

When Police arrived, a 19-year-old man told officers he had been stabbed.  The victim was transported by Parkland Ambulance to the Victoria Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The case is still being investigated and police have identified suspects.  It is believed this was not a random attack and the public is not at risk.

Weekend Summary

The Prince Albert Police Service had a steady weekend with 280 calls for service. 

There were 43 people, 26 people for being arrested for intoxicated in public. 

The calls patrol members responded to the most were intoxicated persons, with 48 calls and disturbances, at 37.  There were 5 people charged with impaired driving.

There were 8 people arrested facing new charges.

Five people remanded over the weekend and made their court appearance at Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday morning.
