Jul 22, 2015 | 6:56 AM

National Drowning Prevention Week is underway.

Activities are planned throughout the week at the Kinsmen Water Park pool raising water safety.

A mock drowning demonstration was performed yesterday by lifeguards and paramedics.

In the demonstration, life guard, Nachelle Spadmen acts as a spinal injury victim as other lifeguards and paramedics come to the rescue.

According to the Saskatchewan Life Saving Society, summer is the peak season for drownings.
