Police map of Saskatchewan shows real-time connections to child porn

Each time a new red dot appears on its map of Saskatchewan, it tells the the province’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit someone has just accessed child porn.

“It’s actually very disturbing as to how much activity is ongoing at any given time,” said Staff Sgt. Ron Weir of Saskathewan’s ICE unit.

He said the map shows that child porn being accessed in real time. Activity picks up in the late evening and early morning hours, and on weekends.

“It’s identifying … IP addresses that are downloading child pornography within the province of Saskatchewan,” said Weir.
