“We would listen to him so much. Every day to school, from school, driving around the city,” Williams said.

Brett struggled with a drug addiction, seeking help several times.

“Once my brother accepted help, he went back and it was Ed Sheeran that had actually got me and my brother to be close again,” she explained. Brett died the day after committing to go back to rehab, deciding to get high one more time and accidentally overdosing.

C95 surprised Williams Tuesday morning with a backstage pass for her and her family.

“Oh my god, thank you,” Williams said between sobs.

“My brother would be so excited.”

Ed Sheeran spotted around Saskatoon

Several Ed Sheeran fans got a chance to meet the British singer as he made his way through local restaurants on Monday night.

Camela Brockman was sitting on O’Shea’s patio when her friend spotted Sheeran. Fans of his music, they nervously asked him for photo.

“It was just really cool. He was really nice about it,” she said, adding she got an autograph for one of her piano students.

Brockman said Sheeran bought a round of drinks for the bar. He was also spotted at Winston’s where he greeted fans.
