LUCAS introduced to Candle Lake

Candle Lake first responders have become the very first of their kind in the province to have access to a mechanical CPR device known as a LUCAS.

The device went into service Thursday morning, and demonstrations were held for the public.

Studies have shown that the quality of manual CPR will decrease over time simply due to rescuer fatigue.

Now with the LUCAS device which does perfect CPR the same way all the time, the first responders can concentrate on other tasks.
