Diefenbaker Bridge to remain 100% open for long weekend

The City of Prince Albert wants drivers to know that the Diefenbaker Bridge will be free of lane restrictions this Victoria Day long weekend.

At Monday’s executive committee meeting, acting public works director Wes Hicks announced that the bridge would be “100 per cent” open for the entire weekend.

He said the City would not be starting any road work projects until after the long weekend.

The City has two major road work projects scheduled to take place this summer. The aging water and sewer pipes under Second Avenue West between the foot of the bridge and 15th Street West will be replaced. The Diefenbaker Bridge itself will undergo repairs to its splash guards and guard rails.
