Stats Can singles out northern Saskatchewan
In 2013, northern Saskatchewan had the highest police reported crime rate among the northern regions.
That’s one of the findings of a new study by Statistics Canada.
Within northern Saskatchewan there were 54,978 incidents reported to police, compared to 9,114 in southern Saskatchewan
“The big part of that difference is due to the high number of mischief and disturbing the peace [complaints], those two crimes alone account for 36 per cent of all the crimes in northern Saskatchewan,” said study co-author Samuel Perreaux.
