Students prepare ducks for their launch
The students in Tracy Gaudet’s Grade 2 class were gathered around the box containing day-old ducklings to receive their special delivery.
Wednesday morning was the day that the class at Vincent Massey Community School received two of the ducklings to raise over the course of the next four weeks. The children will then take the ducks to Prince Albert’s Memorial Gardens, where they will release the ducks.
The class will be starting a new unit in which the students will learn about animals and how they grow.
The students will measure the ducks, track their changes in a diary and learn about life cycles, as well as the environmental impact of oil spills on ducks.
