Toddler drowns at Last Mountain Lake

Apr 10, 2015 | 10:50 AM

A three-year-old girl died after being found unresponsive in Last Mountain Lake at Sarnia Beach.

RCMP will not provide any details on the incident, but people in the area say that as many as four young children had tried to cross the ice on a canal, which runs alongside residential properties at the resort community.  The other children made it across an area of thinner ice, but the little girl did not.

The toddler had been found in the water by a family member near its residence at the resort community. RCMP were called around 11 a.m.

STARS air ambulance took the toddler to hospital. However, the child passed away.
