Wolf Back a Beer returns

Apr 7, 2015 | 6:42 AM

At the end of the week, the Mann Art Gallery will host one of its biggest fundraisers of the year.

Wolf Back a Beer returns for its fourth year to raise funds to bring a massive brass wolf sculpture to the gallery.

“We have been raising funds since 2011 to acquire this major bronze wolf by this sculptor Joe Fafard,“ said Mann Art Gallery director Jesse Campbell. “This bronze wolf is going to be probably nine feet tall and probably around 1,000 pounds and it will sit outside of our gallery just at the base of the [Diefenbaker] Bridge.”

Over the last four years, the event has attracted many from in and around Prince Albert to visit the E.A. Rawlinson Centre.

Campbell said they will have tastings of specialty and craft beers, Campbell said. There will also be entertainment from The O’Kraut Boys and The Goats will be here this year to play for people.

But this year, there will be one new entertainment feature that could get people out of their seats.

“Our new feature for 2015 is karaoke,” said Campbell, and added that they’ll have karaoke set up in the main gallery.

Early-bird buyers can get their tickets for $20 dollars from the Mann Art Gallery, and a ticket will be good for five beer tastings as well.

However, tickets can also be purchased at the door for $25. The event kicks off on Friday at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre at 7 p.m.
