A young man was apparently heading somewhere in a hurry when RCMP caught his vehicle going 204 kilometres per hour.

The RCMP South West Regional Traffic Services caught the speeding vehicle heading eastbound on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Swift Current. Due to new provincial legislation, the vehicle was immediately impounded for 30 days.

The driver, a 25-year-old man from Swift Current, faces a charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He’ll make his first court appearance on April 20.
