Saskatchewan’s Steve Laycock has secured a playoff berth with a 4-2 win over B.C.’s Jim Cotter in the final round-robin draw Friday morning.

Saskatchewan finished 7-4 and tied with Team Canada’s John Morris, but will be seeded third because of a win over Morris in the preliminary round.

Laycock and Morris square off Saturday in the playoff game between the third and fourth seeds. The winner advances to the semifinal.

Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs (10-1) and Brad Gushue’s Newfoundland and Labrador (9-2) were to meet Friday in the playoff between the top two seeds. The winner gets into Sunday’s championship game while the loser drops to the semifinal.
