Victoria’s Secret opens in Midtown Plaza

After months of anticipation, Victoria’s Secret has opened its doors in Midtown Plaza.

Some of the people walking by the line outside the newly opened lingerie store didn’t understand the buzz, but the girls that waited in line since 6 a.m. definitely thought it was worth it.

The first 20 people to scramble into line after the mall doors opened at 6 a.m. were given a $50 gift card. The slinking line slowly filled up with about 50 more people before the velvet rope swung open at 9:30 a.m.

The line was comprised of mostly teens and women in their twenties, some of which were wearing Victoria’s Secret PINK line, bobbed their heads as music pumped through speakers on the bottom level of the mall. Televisions showing the famous Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show kept the waiting fans entertained.

Victoria’s Secret opened its first Canadian store in the West Edmonton Mall in August 2010 and has been a big hit in the country since.

There are currently 38 Victoria’s Secret stores open across Canada, according to the company website. Midtown Plaza’s location is the first in Saskatchewan.
