Warm weather breaking records around province

The mid-winter warmup in Saskatchewan will cause some places to break temperature records.

With temperatures increasing and decreasing throughout the day many towns and cities across the province will be breaking records.

Prince Albert is once city that will get close to breaking their record of 5.6 degrees, set back in 1945, but the temperature for the city is expected to only hit a high of 3 degrees on Thursday. 

A long-standing record in Saskatoon should remain untouched . The city’s record high of +6.7 degrees was set in 1942. Saskatoon is set to hit a high of 4 degrees.

Regina should get close to cracking their record of 2.8 degrees set in 1910, Regina is expected to hit a high of 3 degrees on Thursday.

Towns/cities Breaking Records

Meadow Lake broke its record of 0.8 degrees set in 2006.

Nipawin’s broke its record of -3.4 degrees set in 2010.

Waskesiu broke its record of -0.2 degrees set in 2001.

Husdon Bay broke its record of -3.1 degrees set in 2010.

Yorkton broke its record of -10.9 degrees set in 2012.

North Battleford broke its record of -0.9 degrees set in 2013.

Spiritwood broke its record of +0.2 degrees set in 2001.

Melfort broke its record of -1 degrees set in 2001.

La Ronge broke its record of +0.8 degrees set in 1981
