Drama used as a tool to heal and educate

Jan 19, 2015 | 11:13 AM

During the week-long Reconciliation and Healing through Arts and Culture program, Paul Daigneault and Kurtis McAdam were educating people of all ages and cultures on the history of First Nations’ family, culture breakdown and regeneration.

The presentations, which were given to full houses from Monday to Saturday at the Prince Albert Arts Centre, focussed on creating a sense of empathy and understanding.

These emotions were created by describing the breakdown of culture but also using humour and drama in story telling.

Instructors encouraged audience participation and used fun-filled antics with the stories of Wesahkecahk.
