Semis and cars hitting the ditch along icy Sask. highways

Christmas travellers are having to slow down as freezing rain caused slippery highways Friday morning.
Vanessa was driving from Moose Jaw to Swift Current when she saw a car hit the ditch right in front of her.
“They hit the ditch really fast, went through the divided highway and actually hit the other ditch as well. They seriously lost control.”
She said semis are also sliding along the stretch of highway.
“There were two semis that have gone partially into the ditch and then there was another one in the middle that had jack knifed, he was in between the two lanes.”
Vanessa said many semis that are playing it smart by pulling over and waiting for road conditions to get better.
