PA Judo Club at Watrous Tournament

This was an excellent tournament for the athletes that attended.  Our club has had a few ups and downs in the past few months with one of our coaches having to leave due to being relocated for work, so we have reworked our game plan for the year and made a few changes and it is encouraging to see the results from it.

Doyle Ironstand, Kieth Merasty and myself, Deborah Mckay, have been working hard with our Sr. class for the past few months.

Two of our female athletes returned from the Québec and Ontario Open in which Miranda Bellisle brought home a Bronze, and Megan Neuman just fell short of the podium with a 5th place. 

This caliber of tournament was a first for the girls and it was to help prepare them for their upcoming year as they will both be looking towards nationals this year.  Returning from Ontario and Quebec Megan saw the caliber of the girls and came back with confidence and changed the intensity of her workouts and it has shown to pay off.

She defeated Taryn Montgomery from the Regina Y three matches to qualify her as the contender for the Canada Winter Games.
