Power 99 doubles Project Poinsettia’s reach

Dec 2, 2014 | 6:08 AM

This year, seniors in long-term care facilities in north central Saskatchewan received double the Christmas cheer from Power 99’s Project Poinsettia.

The community service project combines the FM station’s forces with local businesses and CUPE Local 4777. In the past, they have delivered more than 660 poinsettias to those living in Prince Albert Parkland Health Region’s long-term care facilities.

Extra partners – including the Saskatchewan Government and General Employees’ Union and several Melfort and Nipawin-area businesses – allowed Project Poinsettia to extend its reach this year.

By adding Kelsey Trail Health Region’s long-term care residents to its deliveries, 1,226 people in total received the poinsettias.
